Today one of our VIP customers from Florida (Richard C.) called me and asked if I had heard about the black skull and crossbones sticker from Dale Earnhardt Jr. dashboard in the 2001 Pepsi 400.
I had not but was intrigued so went to Google to do a little research and found a Reddit article where Dale Jr. answered the question:
"Just a sticker I thought was cool. So I snuck it into the car and stuck it on the dash that night. Bud was pissed off because of the connection of that symbol with poison.
They actually asked our team if I could remove it during the race. I didn’t get that information till years later."
After a little more digging around I found that the average speed at the 2001 Pepsi 400 was 157.601 mph.
Ya, probably not a good idea to try and remove a sticker while going 1/5th the speed of sound.
If you're curious the speed of sound is 767.269 miles per hour :)
If you're interested we have 59 pieces of jewelry with the skull and crossbones. All items are in-stock and ship the same day.
